This comprehensive Galata Guide is the first major catalogue of the royal farthing tokens of James I and Charles I to be published in over 40 years. Drawing on previously unpublished material from the National Archives, the book reveals important contemporary documents and accounts overlooked by both C. W. Peck and Christopher Challis.
The catalogue includes around 50 pieces not listed by Peck, together with nearly 100 contemporary counterfeits identified and catalogued for the first time.
