Sometimes, things just have a way of working out, and a recent customer story is one of our favourites.
Wednesday 11th June (2025), Karen, one of our customers got in touch after an unfortunate mishap. She had accidentally run over her XP Deus II headphones and was understandably in a bit of a panic. With a weekend dig already planned, she sent them in to us straight away, hoping there was something we could do.
Fortunately, our repair team worked their magic. In less than 24 hours, we had her headphones repaired, tested, and sent back. They landing on her doorstep in time for her to head out as planned.
Fast forward to Sunday… and what a dig it turned out to be.
Armed with her freshly repaired headphones, Karen not only got out detecting, but she uncovered a hoard of 20 Roman coins. Including digging up a 1914 silver, no less! The hoard is now going through the official treasure process, and we couldn’t be more thrilled for her.
Karen later wrote to us to say:
“Thank you for your amazing customer service. You managed to turn around my damaged headphones in 24 hours and I was therefore able to get out digging again yesterday.
And what a dig I had. 20 Roman coins came up for me, just after a 1914 silver and I am over the moon.
I had already posted on my group’s Facebook page about my mishap and your amazing help, and there were a few comments after the find saying I was jolly lucky to have got my headphones back!”

It’s stories like these that remind us why we do what we do. We’re so proud to support the detecting community and help get people back out in the field. Whether it’s for a casual swing or, in this case, a once-in-a-lifetime discovery.
